Following the tradition of minimalist abstraction, Peter Demos creates bold geometric compositions based on symmetry and golden ratio proportions. To create Untitled (Horizon), Demos photographed a diptych from his solo exhibition Horizon, which was on view at The Journal Gallery during the spring of 2016.
Subtlety optical and physical, the shadows in Untitled (Horizon) seemingly push the image beyond the picture plane, resulting in formal minimalism reminiscent of an abstract landscape and a trompe l'oeil.
